Color Catch is an immersive Roblox experience developed in collaboration with the National Gallery of Art. This project transitions traditional art into an interactive space, creating a dynamic bridge between art history and younger audiences. By turning world-class heritage and iconic architecture into playable environments, the experience shifts visitors from passive observation to active engagement, allowing them to experience historic settings from an entirely new perspective.

The gameplay consists of fast-paced, chaotic rounds that are different every time. In every round, roles are assigned randomly:
Playing as a Guard: Your mission is to protect the integrity of the museum. You must spot the Color Catchers hiding among the characters and catch them with your net before time runs out.
Playing as a Color Catcher: Your goal is to enter famous artworks, blend into the environment, and drain their color while avoiding the Guards.

The gameplay experience takes participants directly inside the infrastructure and collection of the National Gallery of Art. The action takes place within environments that faithfully recreate the museum's real-world architecture as well as three-dimensional arenas based on historical paintings.
The production process focused on maintaining strict artistic and architectural fidelity while adapting the original composition and color palettes of the canvases into competitive spaces. This allows players to explore the interior of four renowned masterpieces:
• A Scene on the Ice by Hendrick Avercamp
• Pont Neuf, Paris by Auguste Renoir
• The House of Representatives by Samuel F. B. Morse
• Farmhouse in Provence by Vincent van Gogh

The cultural purpose of the project is to connect younger demographics with historical art through interactive gameplay. Instead of observing art from behind a security barrier, users inhabit and defend the artistic spaces.
By navigating the maps and completing objectives, players naturally absorb the names of the artists, historical contexts, and visual elements of the collection. The experience serves as an organic introductory tool that brings museum heritage directly into the gaming ecosystem where younger audiences already spend their time.
